“Bad Romance” Goes Diamond in Light of New RIAA Rule

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced on Thursday that they will be including on-demand audio and/or video song streams to it’s gold & platinum certification program. With the launch of this new rule, the RIAA announced that “Bad Romance” has now reached Diamond certification status (10x platinum). Other titles that earned a new certification include Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”, Kanye West’s “Stronger”, Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games” and Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s “We Found Love”.

Lady Gaga Chart Update 9/15/11

“Yoü And I” dropped from #4 to #8 this week on the Billboard Digital Songs chart with 141,000 copies sold (a 19% decrease from the previous update). Total sales for Yoü And I now accumulate to 673,000. On the Hot 100 chart, the single also drops 2 places from #6 to #8 with a new peak at #21 on the Radio Songs chart.

Lady Gaga Chart Update 9/8/11

This week the Mutt Lunge-produced single “Yoü And I” jumps from #8 to #4 with 175,000 copies sold becoming the best sales week for any Gaga hit single since The Edge of Glory” debuted at No. 1 with 266,000, on the May 28th Digital Songs chart.

On the Hot 100, Gaga’s first rock/pop ballad charts in the top ten, becoming her eleventh consecutive top ten single, scoring fourth among all solo artists for the record, behind Janet Jackson, Madonna and Whitney Houston.

Hot 100 – #6 (#16 last week)
Digital Songs – #4 (#8 last week – 175,000, up 61%)
Radio Songs – #23 (#37 last week – up 32%)

Born This Way’ is #14 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart selling 23,884 copies last week, bringing the current total to 1,755,301. Gaga’s début album ‘The Fame‘ has sold a total of 4,297,274 copies, (4,497 last week) and is at #110.

Elsewhere; in the United Kingdom, “Yoü And I” has entered the Top 40 on iTunes – the single will be officially released on September 19th, along with the official remixes.

Lady Gaga Chart Update 8/25/11

This week Lady Gaga’s fourth single “Yoü and I” was officially released to radio, and is now beginning to make an impact on both radio and iTunes. Below are this week’s chart positions in the United States for; the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, Digital Songs, and Radio Songs.

Born This Way‘  is #12 on the Billboard 200 this week, selling 20,202 copies, totalling to 1,711,510 copies sold so far in the U.S.  Total copies sold worldwide now accumulate to approx. 4,111,000.

Previous single, “The Edge of Glory”  sold 1,774,566 copies as of last week – including the total from this week’s Digital Track Chart, it has sold at least 1,824,351 digital copies in the U.S.  ”Born This Way” has so far sold 3,197,474 copies.
